Team working

For our people and organisation assignment I worked in a team which proved to be very successful. The success came when the work was submitted and a passing grade was received, this showed that the team worked well together. The reason for the team performing together so well was that there was more than one type of person working in the team according to Belbins team roles theory; I was the ideas man who came up with all the ideas and strategies. Matt was the research man finding out just what we needed to know to complete this task. Hassan very much took on the role of the completer finisher; he made sure that everything was finished and ready to go. This is the reason that the team working was so successful.

Hasan Ozersay – Completer Finisher

Based on the Tuckman theory the team was very effective although the final outcome took some time to reach. The team in the forming stage of the assignment was very polite but as we have spent time together outside of the team the forming and Norming stages were over fairly quickly, however the team did struggle to get through the Norming stages due to the lack of communication within the team. It took till the final week of the task for the team to finally break into the performing section of the stages of team development, the team came together and we put each section of the assignment together and this is when we reached the performing stage as this is when we came together and completed the task which shot us into the adjourning stage were the team disbanded and we had finished the assignment.
